Comment: I HAVE A KINDA HALF SLEEVE ON MY RIGHT ARM, AND MY BACK IS TATTED.....I ALSO HAVE 5 KIDS, WHO ARE IN SCHOOL AND SPORTS...AND I AM VERY INVOLVED WITH THEM...THEY DONT LIKE ME HAVING TOO MUCH. Comment: all new comers who apprentice in my shops are treated with respect....i dont believe for one second you are 6'9" 250, be that as it may, good luck in your tattooing career. remember one thing, the customer isnt always right, and if you are a true artist it wont be about money, which i sense for you it isnt.

Comment: right so we agree that that nowadays all the equipment is alot better than the stuff you used to use when you started (when i was but a twinkle in my fathers eye) . i can appreciate that i owe you old guys alot of respect . but you have to understand that ive met loads guys with your kind of experience and impressive as it is , its not the be all and end all of tattooing . the best tattooist i know pesonally has been tattooing for only 6 years and won his first award after only a year . what im saying then is that wile 40 years of experience definatly commands respect , the people that influence me (tony ciavarro , jime litwalk , josh woods , albie rock ) dont have this and look at there work , its some of the best in the world and 40 years tattooing has nothing to do with it . yes im young , new , hot headed and mouthy but look at my work in 35 years it will blow your mind (if your still with us ) so as a conclusion stop bugging me and go look after your several shops ( several more than me ). i hope if we meet one day we meet that when im stood in front of you at 250lbs and 6ft 9
you punch me right in the face (if you quick enough) because i probably deserve it and ill probably end up treating new comers just the way you do now anyway !

Comment: yes im old, and you "new school" artists can learn alot...do you think in over 40 years of tattooing ive never seen a head tattoo? ive seen thousands of them...and after 10 years they all look terrible. you have an advantage these days, in that the inks are better, and the machines are better, which extend the life of modern tattoos as opposed to the old ones. i dont need to go to nightschool, but i can tell you if you walked into my shop, after i kicked your a*s for being so disrespectful, id ruin your name in the tattoo community and have you black balled.
yes i am old, yes in some ways i am stuck in mud, but let me explain something to you, without us old farts, you newbies wouldnt be here. i pay homage to men and women like Sailor Mike, Sage, Mr Twist, Mickey Hanks, and alot of people you never even heard of....why? RESPECT, respect for this business, and respect for the people who handed it down to me.
honestly its your body, you want a head tatt...Cheers to you, but how dare you tell me you know more than me, because you dont.

Comment: a2 a2 a2 , you really feel strongly about this dont you old man . you seem to know rather alot about head tattoos for someone whos never done one . your obviously an oldschool "artist" who doesnt like change . i think if you get off that extemly high horse of yours and talk to people that have tattooed heads you might learn something . i know plenty of guys with head neck and facial tattoos that are 15 years plus and only show the normal amount of aging for a tattoo . i talked to a few artists before getting it done (2 of them award winning) who encouraged me to do what i wanted and not listen to all the bullshit i was bound to hear . i know you hugely experienced guys dont like to be challenged by the young new guys to the business but dude as tattoos advance things change and the boundrys get pushed further and further forward . i always get s**t from the oldschool guys it goes with being a newbie but if in 25 years my head tattoo looks s**t rest assured i will come see you take my old hat off my freshly shaven head and say "hey old man you were right " in the unlikly event of this day i will just get the whole thing redone with no bother . we redo tattoos from back in your day all the time and they look like new . in the meantime go to nightschool and learn about the human body and skin . now may i recommend head and shoulders for your dandruff . bye

Comment: well josh, at 24 you have only lived about half as long as ive been tattooing. i began tattooing right after I left Korea, and now own several shops.(i havent tattooed anything in the last several years due to back problems,..comes with the territory) i know exactly what im talking about, head tattoos DO NOT stand up well over time. the skin on the scalp renews itself on a daily basis...ever hear of dandruff? thats what dandruff is, skin renewing itself, at a higher rate than the other parts of the body. also take into account that the head is hotter than other parts of the body which can and often does effect the life of a tattoo. wearing a hat, exposure to the sun, having to shave it everyday will effect it...trust me i know what im talking about. there isnt an experienced artist,(sorry at 24 you dont qualify) who would disagree with me. i did read your profile...i was living in the tattoo community 25 years before you were born....and never ever would i tattoo a human head...not for any amount of money...i have integrity, and that keeps me from doing that to anyone. having a tattoo on your head doesnt give you ELITE status in the tattoo community, trust me, most experienced artists look down on that sort of thing.

Comment: i have never, and would never, for any amount of money tattoo a head.....they dont stand up well over time....constant shaving, the scalp is always renewing itself over and over, and believe it or not just wearing hats, and sleeping on pillows can effect it...never a good idea.
