Its not that its faded, its just a badly done, badly shaded tattoo, the linework sucks and the artist obviously doesnt know the first thing about directional light, or tattooing

Dude, it's an awesome design and people are right if it means something to you you did the right thing, but unfortunately the person that did the tattoo did good line work but needs practice in their shading techniques but if you like it thats all that counts..I belive you might want to go tribal ink to cover up the bad shading there are differences between shading techniques that he must practice on do not think of laser is a scaring technique that costs more than the tattoo.. your tattoo artist Joker Joe
PS I've been tattooing over twenty years you don't have to cover it up just darken the whole thing, I think you'll be more satisfied with the whole thing..
