Ya know this is a shame, it is comments like that "from Mike???" that really show the true mentality of people who are jealous of "Dreamtime". I have seen some really good work on this site and this tattoo looks really good, Congrats Sean, BUT...not only is Dreamtime a great place to get great work, they are also very nice people and when I asked about other shops in Springfield, they had nothing bad to say. I actually went into ALL the shops to check out each artist before I went back to Dreamtime, now I am working on my fourth tattoo. Jessica, congrats on your nice tattoo and to everyone else, choose the artist that YOU think does good work, look around and find one you can connect with.....I found my connection with Mendi and Styx at Dreamtime.

Just so everyone knows. I don't really care what everyone thinks, you are entitled to your own opinions. Nice work Sean, no criticism here cause theres none to be made.But I'm sure you would be professional about it if it needed it. It seems like some people ask for criticism, but really don't want to hear the truth. It's unfortunate that most peoples' definition of "professional" is influenced by people who have no clue themselves.Experience should be measured in skill, and not years. Shit, I know people that have been driving for twenty years and are still terrible at it. You did a good thing by going your own way, just like me, and it shows in your work. Keep it up. At first glance this tattoo could be rated very high. However, upon further inspection you can see a little bit of wavering linework, the colors seem dull for a koi fish (I'm sure that could be the picture's fault), and the waves just don't do it for me. Some of the shading in the waves is harsher than others. The waves in general don't seem to give the piece as big of a pop as I could invision them doing.
But whatever. It's a decent piece. |

thanx for the imput. That is helpfull. I tryed to keep the color s cool, on the darkerside so the blues would push every thing forward. there are some looong lines on the waves that need touching up. color out lines are kinda a bitch.no excuse. the flow of the waves is lacking a bit they should project forward like the koi was splashing....live and learn overall I'm happy with the finished healed pic and sos jess. ce la vi |

i particularly like the shape and shine on the head and the colour definition on the scales. GO neo-japanese-nu-skool or whatever you want to call it. I like it. I cant really see the wavering lines on my monitor but that isn't too hard to fix. The curling tail isn;t my thing but it isn't my tattoo. overall a really good job |
