if your gonna vote negative, i don't care, but let me know why, otherwise i'll just assume the votes your dishing out are to make yourself feel a little better about the garbage your pumping out. you know where i'm at now in my career and you know where i'll be in a couple of years, and as i move forward i'll know that i've worked hard and i'll know that i've earned the respect for the work that i do, cos face it, i'm not going to buy my trophys with the contacts i make and the use of sponsoring numerous events and conventions, but hey, if your work doesn't show it and thats how you have to get by, then do what you got to do. Enjoy the 2000 A+ votes that you gave yourself, tell your grandkids how great you thought your were, and leave me alone along the way. . .
and "ME"- thanx for atleast saying what you thought about it, thats worth a little respect, but you could have left a name, and would want me to see that you're much better than i am so you would have some ground for such a comment, but you didn't so whats left for me to assume? |

Hi Ryan,
Please understand, I was not attacking your workmanship. I myself am a tattoo wearer not a tattoo artist. I think the example of the roses and horseshoe is excellent and I would happily go under your needles. I only point out that the horsehoe can be seen as something other than a horseshoe. Maybe I am the only who sees it. Who knows? I don't use a double ended dildo myself but have seen enough in use in movies to know what they look like. I feel it is similar to people who get kanji tattoos without knowing and researching what they are getting. The end wearer of the tattoo just needs to be aware of all possibilities prior to commiting ink to skin. This is no reflection on your workmanship or tattoo ability, just an unfortunate situation where the design "can" be seen as something other than it is intended to be. I only hope the wearer of this tattoo does not "see" what I see or that someone does not point it out to her because overall it truly is a beautiful tattoo. I only pointed it out because I knew you were posting the pic on here as the artist, not the wearer. I would never tell the wearer what I see because it could possibly devestate her and I would not want that. I think she should be very proud of her artwork as it truly is an excellent example of tattoo art.
All the best,
Me. |

ME- i appreciate u clarifying what you had to say, from which i think you had the best critique so far and this is really the kind of feedback i'm looking for. I agree that there are possibilities for the mind to make references to the design of the object that the viewer is looking at, examples- for lack of better references- any austin power's movie with the scenes in which a balloon or fruit and many other objects were used to suggest a few body parts, however that the mind does this, it is still just a suggestion. I like to work in an American-traditional style and part of which is working with simplified forms, at which point the simplicity may make it easier for the viewer's mind to play. I also agree that not enough people research their tattoos, but i don't believe this was the case here. She got a horseshoe, which to me atleast doesn't seem to imply that i should research sex toys. Again, thanx for a much more detailed critique and hope to hear more from you in this manner on pieces to come. |

dont take it personal but you should always scan over your stuff and filter out your freuidian desires if its for someone else. if you don't believe me look how the tips taper at the end and compare that to a horseshoe..... aha see your tatt looks like pee pees the only horseshoe you should stick with
is probably at d'arcys pint! |

Wow your a bright one predator. Have you ever been exposed to art or just pictures already prepared. Ryan here is an artist he drew this design from scratch and required no visual aid. I think you need to get dick of the brain and appritiate the clean work here. If you wanna hack on garbage look at some of the undeserved higher scores at the top of the page. Thats what rushed tattooing looks like or should we just call it roadkill. |

Ryan i really like the artwork that went into this piece. I can for one say that Ryan is a great artist. He has done 2 of my piedes and 2 of myy fiances. I am extremely impressed with anting I have seen him do. On another note he also is a real classy guy. Everyone at newage is. I have been to another shop in town and it seems they are all about blowing there own horn. You don't have that cockiness at NA. |

After reading that you like to work in the traditional style it puts a whole new outlook on the piece. For only tattooing for a year and a half I'd say your well on your way to becoming a great tattoo artist. My only word of advice is to not buy into all the shit-slinging other tattoo artists are doing against other shops. Every artist has his/her own style. Every shop has it's own flavor and way of doing things. No one should fault anyone for doing business and their work the way they perceive as "the best way". Art is subjective. I would say as long as the customers go home happy and show their tattoo soff with pride from that day on, then congratulations to everyone, no matter which shop or artist. |

Your work is wonderful. I am diggin the old school traditional feel. Very nice. But, the horseshoe does kinda look like a double ended didlo after that being pointed out, it's all I can see. =] But otherwise, fantastic job man! =] |
