im glad you got the tattoo you really wanted. you see im filled with alot of care bear tattoos that shawn did for me. all my tattoos were done at inkubeauink. I would never go to anyone else but him. He rocks. Dont let anyone tell you what you should get. unless it is a name of a person. then well you should think about it really hard. ya never know if it will last or not. but your tattoo will last forever.

The written Japanese language uses CHINESE characters, BG, along with kana, which might be described as Japanese characters I suppose. What you have is a combination of Chinese characters along with katakana (a type of kana) and meaningless bits of Chinese characters. I don't meant to be cruel, but really, you can't have researched very carefully. You don't even appear to know that Chinese characters are not an alphabet like English letters. As Squoo has pointed out, you've apparently been led to believe that it's possible to spell out English words using Chinese characters; it's not. You can translate with varying degrees of accuracy, but that's about it. My suggestion to you is a cover up. Some of the characters might be rescuable, maybe, but honestly I wouldn't bother. You seem to like tribal stuff; a good tattoo artist should be able to create something quite nice to cover what you have at the moment. Good luck with that. Perhaps you could post a before and after shot when it's done.

Well it's actually Japanese characters but oh well. I know you think it is retarde but oh well, it's on me now. When I looked it up, i looked at the individual characters and then put them in order to say DEICIDE, i guess i failed. But oh well, I will have to research a little harder next time.

Aha! The infamous Asian Gibberish Font. Very well spotted, Squoo. Wow. And judging from the now mysteriously vanished picture and the date it was posted, this was done very recently. Amazing and pathetic. And what really kills me is that there is so much potential for actual beauty and meaning in Chinese character tattoos that, because of their ignorance, nearly no one actually accesses.

The original photo has gone, but from Bob's description I can see exactly what has happened. And either 'Deicide' (the killing of a deity) was intended, or the same spelling mistake was made in both the description and the tattoo itself.
Assigning numbers to the different elements Bob lists (fire=1, 'ne'=2 etc,) we get:
1 - 2 - 3 - 4 - 3 - 1 - 2
If 1=D, 2=E, 3=I, and 4=C, the result:
D - E - I - C - I - D - E.
Yes, this was English, written in some 'Asian-style' dingbat font. Because, that's how language works. Oh yes.

I just had to have another look at this to make sure I wasn't being too harsh. If anything, I wasn't harsh enough. What on earth were you thinking?? If you're going to get tattooed in a language you clearly don't understand AT ALL, then the very least you can do is ask for advice from someone who DOES know the language. Where on earth did you come up with what's been inked onto you?

You've not only wasted your money and time getting this tattoo, but if you have any sense at all, which is difficult to imagine given this mess, you're going to need to spend a whole lot MORE money and time getting this removed or covered (or resign yourself to never taking your shirt off in public again), not to mention the humiliation of having posted a photo of it on the internet.

"Deicide," as in "the killing of a deity"? Or did you mean "decide," as "to make a decision"? Either way, no.

What you appear to actually have there is a completely meaningless collection of random kanji, katakana, and radicals (that is, parts of kanji that mean nothing by themselves).

The nearest translation (from top to bottom) is something like: "Fire, 'ne' (just a meaningless syllable), no meaning, day, no meaning, fire, 'ne.'

It's not even as if the "artist" (and I use the term lightly) just accidentally split parts of kanji and placed them separately one above the other. None of the individual elements you have could even be combined to make actual kanji or meaningful words.

This is by far and away THE WORST attempt at a kanji tattoo I have ever seen, and that's saying a lot.
