I'm not generally one for flowers and butterflies, either. I had the frog tattoo from a while back and I wanted to incorporate him into something larger. Thus the lilypad idea. We did the cherry blossoms and swirls in order to follow the curve of my stomach (it's all freehanded). The butterfly I decided on as a sort of "autograph" for my artist (Jen Carmean, Monarch Tattoos - Newfoundland NJ).
I'm really happy with how it turned out. Now I want to add more to it :)
The white "tatoo",sadly, is from one of those silly stickers at the tanning salon (I know, bad me)... |

i am very impressed with the butterfly in this tat. it is almost perfect! i do have to say that i am sick of all the butterfly tats but this one makes a nice change and at the end of the day i suspose butterflies have meaning for a lot of people. there just seem to be a lot of them around at the moment. |

It was about $300 for the new work (lily pad, cherry blossoms and butterfly). The frog was about $75 when I first got it 7 years ago. Lucky for me, the new work was all a gift from my BF - if he had his way, I'd be covered from head to toe ;) |

beautiful work, I love the way it works with your body...I want something similar...i will start it lower, have it curve around my tummy area (like yours), up across my waist, across my lower back, and up teh opposite side and across my shoulder. I love the way your tatt not only looks, but how it highlights the negative space or uninked area. |
