This is a redo of a 10 year old tat that I was forced to get during an abusive marriage. The colors purple and teal are the colors of domestic violence and sexual assault...both of which I am a survivor. I hated the tat for years, and decided to claim it as a symbol of my survivorship, after moving on.

I'm Carlene, this was my first tattoo I got it Feb. 2006. Its a purple butterfly with a heart around it, angel wings on each side with my daughter's name over them and vines underneath the whole thing. Did I pick out a good tattoo for my first one? Is there anything I should change or add to it?
