Tattoo Design Details:
This was a memorial tattoo for my sister who died close to 4 years ago. I got it 2 days after I turned 18. I chose a cherry blossom because it means 'life is short,' as hers was. The guy who did it was AWESOME. I would refer ANYONE to him!
More Details:
The scariest thing for me is to be COVERED in tattoos, because I know one day, I will. *giggle* I'm addicted to the tattooing process. It's something I think everyone should feel at least once. It's amazing how 'pain' for one person, can put another one to sleep. I'm addicted to cherry blossoms. You can read more about why on my 'Dana' tattoo. My body is a work in progress. I'm working on it on the inside, as well as the outside. Tattooing is my therapy. :)

Comment: For the Chinese the cherry blossom is a very significant symbol of power. Typically it represent a feminine beauty and sexuality and often holds an idea of power or feminine dominance. Within the language of herbs and herbal lore of the Chinese the cherry blossom is often the symbol of love.

Comment: yeah.. that's the CHINESE meaning of it... I'm not talking CHINESE *rolls eyes* how can it mean POWER if it dies so quickly? *grin* people = dumb you have to realize that different cultures find different meanings for symbols

Comment: How fucking dare you talk to someone like that. Even if the tattoo was shit, which it isn't she got it to remember her sister who died. Show some respect you idiots!

Comment: I think your cherry blossom is awesome and I love how you put your sis's name on it! I have a cherry blossom myself, so I love to see them on people. Great choice!

Comment: Cherry blossoms DO symbolize the fact that life is short, and nothing last forever. They have different meanings in the chinese and japanese culture. I have 2 different cherry blossom tattoos, one of which is a memorial. I think it's great that you chose to get inked with your sisters name. :)

Comment: dont listen to them... yes... chinese does means power and love but the japanese way of seeing it is different..... i'm looking forward to getting my cherry blossoms tattoo and for me......, it will symbolize love.....

From: Jennie on September 24, 2007
Comment: Your tattoo is great, I love the reason you did it and the symbolism of the Cherry Blossom which does mean life is a fleeting gift. Don't disrespect memorial tattoo's, if you dont like it then keep your rude comments to yourself!

Comment: Love your tattoo, sorry about your loss

From: Renee on April 3, 2008
Comment: Very nice...and how simply awesome that both the Chinese and Japanese symbolisms honor your sister. You couldn't have made a better choice. Feminine love, beauty and power, loss of an honorable life and living life each day to its fullest. She will always be with you

Comment: Either way, the blossom looks fine. The butterfly, not so much. Nice memorial to your sister, and I am sorry for your loss.
