Navel Piercing

Navel Piercing, also spelled naval piercing, has become one of the most popular forms of body piercing for women today.  Navel piercings (or naval piercings) cover magazines and movies with the many celebrities that have them.  This increase in famous belly piercings has caused an enthusiastic rush of teenagers to beg their parents for a belly button piercing.

The popularity of belly button piercings has made piercing parlors exceptionally busy.  The navel piercing procedure is actually quite simple.  The hardest part of the whole process is finding a piercing artist who you feel comfortable with.  Once you have selected the one, who should follow all necessary safety procedures and work in a clean environment, it is time to get pierced.  The piercer will clean the area, use forceps to mark the spot, and make the hole with a needle.  The piece of jewelry that you have selected will enter through the hole just following the needle.  Most say the pain level is minimal and very brief.  When all is complete, you will learn how to care for your new piercing.

The stylish and modern navel piercing is slightly more difficult to heal than many other piercings.  The healing time for a bellybutton piercing could last anywhere from three to twelve months.  The reason for this is that belly piercings are obviously located in the waist region, which is constantly moving and rubbing against clothing.  This constant movement can cause irritation, which can prolong the healing process.  Of course, if you follow all after-care instructions, complications can be avoided.
