Tattoos And Piercings
Tattoos and
body piercings are popular forms of
body art. Although they have been around for thousands of years, they were considered unacceptable in and around the early 20th century-mostly seen amongst circus performers and freak shows in the west. Over the last two decades, tattoos and piercings have become increasingly popular.
Both tattoos and piercings are definite forms of creativity. With a tattoo, the design, location, and colors must be decided and personalized, as it will be with you forever. With a piercing, the location and piece of jewelry is what needs to be chosen---a far less difficult decision considering piercings can be taken out.
The major difference between a tattoo and a body piercing is the permanency factor. Although some piercings may leave scars, most piercings are not permanent as tattoos are, making them a bit easier to go through with the endeavor. Additionally, piercings cost less than tattoos and often, teens that are under eighteen have an easier time getting a piercing legally than a tattoo.
The one complication that comes along with a piercing that is greater than with a tattoo is the healing times. Depending on the person and the location of the piercing, healing times will differ. Therefore, usually you will not know how much time the piercing will take to heal. So if you are planning a Caribbean vacation and you want your belly button ring to be all healed by the time your plane lands, then it would be a good idea to plan far ahead, just in case.
