This is a Motherhood Knot from the Book of Kells (Irish). The dots represent family close to you (ie: kids and/or husband) So I did 3, two for my kids and one for my husband. This is a pic taken the same day as the tattoo was done so it is red/inflammed still. The knot (2 hearts entwound) symbolizes a mother's love for her child, all encompassing.
