First off, the color is darker in real life. The flash on the camera washed out a lot of the detail. This tattoo is in memory of my mother who passed away on October 24, 2008. I got the tattoo two weeks later. Her favorite story - or at least my favorite story that I always attributed to her - was The Giving Tree. I looked up image of the Norse tree of life and came across this one. Also, the leaves were added by the artist, and are blue for a reason.
