It's the formation of a chemical solution, silver nitrate. It reads, the silver ion plus the nitrate ion yeilds silver nitrate. I picked it out for a couple of reasons. One, it is a major part of mine and my boyfriend's relationship. I once told him he was the "Ag" to my "NO3." Another is because silver nitrate stains your skin black.
