Eagle Tattoos
One of the most common types of
bird tattoos is the eagle tattoo. The reason for this probably weighs heavily on the eagle’s symbolism. Freedom has always represented the eagle best, which is why America adapted the eagle as one of their most famous emblems.
Eagle tattoos are most often found on those patriotic folks who want to openly express their patriotism with a tattoo. Although American flags, monuments, and slogans are all common patriotic tattoos, there is nothing that expresses the country’s most powerful notion of freedom, as the eagle. Many times, in tattoos of this sort, the eagle will be soaring through the sky, with a red, white, and blue flag in the background.
Of course,
patriotic tattoos have always been popular, however, their occurrence rapidly increased following the attacks of September 11, 2001. The apparent rise in patriotism in the months that followed the 9/11 attacks were tremendous and multifarious. Patriotic tattoos, including eagle tattoos, were just one way that people expressed their pride in being American during those difficult times.
The eagle is known as the king of all birds. Although it is universally known for its symbolism of freedom, it also holds several other characteristics. Because of its strength, the king sounds like an appropriate name for the eagle. Some people also believe that the eagle represents war, might, and spiritual growth.
