Floral Tattoos

Floral tattoo designs are based on those beautiful little pieces of nature that exude sweet smells and warm sentiments.  There are thousands of different types of flowers, each holding their own physical and symbolic characteristics.  The most common floral tattoos use flowers that hold powerful symbolisms, as well as the most beautiful kinds of flowers around.

There are floral tattoos that appear as a photograph, realistic and natural in their exterior.  There are other floral tattoos that look like the flowers have been manipulated to appear abstract, stylish, or funky.  Though these designs are less realistic, they are usually incredibly unique and sexy to have on any part of the body.

In general, flowers tend to mean beauty, growth, and thoughtfulness.  However, the deeper symbolisms will pertain to the specific kind of flower at hand.  Each type of flower and often each color as well, will offer different significance.  The red rose is the most commonly understood flower, of course signifying love.  Aside from the rose, flowers are typically not understood for their true meanings.

When it comes time to get your floral tattoo, you may want to do some research on the various symbolic values behind different flowers to make sure that you stand behind your body art.  For example, if you are looking for a floral tattoo that means innocence, then you would want to go with a daisy or even an orange blossom or a white lily, which both stand for purity.  If you are going for something a little more sophisticated in meaning, Jasmine signifies grace and elegance.  And there are endless other symbolisms and flowers to choose from when you are interested in floral tattoos.
